Warhammer 2’s vortex campaign is an open map, you CAN do whatever you want but the quest for the main goal is quite linear. It kind of depends on what kind of game experience you want. This was all people played before mortal empires was released. Basically you race to complete rituals with the rest of the other AI around a land mass lovingly referred to as a “donut”.

Warhammer 2 on its own has a vortex campaign which is really great, especially if you haven’t experienced it before. Norsca - just OK in both but worse in 2, still waiting on a rework in 3. I like Taurox more, but the other 3 LLs are still a lot of fun.Ĭall of the Beastmen - OK in 1 great in 2 There is another DLC for WH1, Call of the Beastmen. This is supposedly fixed by Norsca getting worldwide occupation in 3, though. Better than WoC campaign in 1 and 2, though. Conceptually, I like them, and they have a good roster and I mostly like their mechanics, but not being able to prevent the occupation of ruins really hurts their campaign causing a whack a mole late game.

Norsca is in a poor state and in need of a rework. If you don't mind a defensive campaign it's a great one. Drycha is free but I haven't gotten to her campaign yet. They have a strong roster that doesn't require too much micro and I love Orion, Durthu, and The Sisters of Twilight for how different they play. I think they need more incursions though. I like the tall campaign and warping arouns healing the forests and defendint the hearthlands. Realm of the Wood Elves post rework is great. Think we missed one?
